The Occultist

Lorraine faces the dark version of herself - and the first opportunity to create a human villain within the Conjuring universe. Since the Conjuring films are so rooted in classic horror cinema I wanted to do a deep dive on my favorite horror villains.

My two favorite references were Mrs. Baylock from The Omen and Mrs. Danvers from Rebecca. I love how they both wear black and have white collars. There’s something very “puritanical” about that which I love.

I found the amazing Eugene Bondurant who absolutely knocked it out of the park. A role like this needs you to make a big impact with just little moments throughout the movie.
